Sex ratio in India is getting more and more disproportionate over the years. Unfortunately the educated and the elite still seem to consider their male child a status symbol, and thereby partake in creating an imbalance in the male-female sex ratio. In most parts of India, sons are viewed as breadwinners who will look after their parents and carry on the family name, but daughters are viewed as financial liabilities for whom they will have to pay substantial dowries to get married off.

Domestic Violence can be described as when one adult in a relationship misuses power to control another. It is the establishment of control and fear in a relationship through violence and other forms of abuse. The violence may involve physical abuse, sexual assault and threats. Sometimes it’s more subtle, like making someone feel worthless, not letting them have any money, or not allowing them to leave the home. Social isolation and emotional abuse can have long-lasting effects as well as physical violence.

Domestic Violence isn't just hitting, or fighting, or an occasional argument.  It's an abuse of power.  The abuser tortures and controls the victim by calculated threats, intimidation, and physical violence. . Although both men and women can be abused, in most cases, the victims are women. Children in homes where there is domestic violence are also abused or neglected. Although the woman is usually the primary target, violence is sometimes directed toward children, and sometimes toward family members and friends.

यह कार्यक्रम बाल यौन शोषण को ख़त्म करने के उद्देश्य से बनाया गया है! एक्सपर्ट गीता ने बताया है कि बच्चों को बाल शोषण से बचाने के लिए बच्चों को माता-पिता और शिक्षकों के द्वारा सेक्स शिक्षा दी जानी चाहिए! इसके अलावे बच्चों को यौन शोषण से बचाना माता-पिता की ज़िम्मेदारी है! एक रेडिओ नाटक के ज़रिये लोगों में बाल यौन शोषण के प्रति जागरूकता जगाने की कोशिश की गयी है! अपने आस-पास हो रहे इस तरह के अपराध के प्रति आवाज़ उठाने का संसेश किया गया है!

यह कार्यक्रम बालिका शिक्षा के महत्व पर बनाया गया है! लोगों से बात करके उनकी राय जानने की कोशिश की गयी है की लोग महिलाओं की शिक्षा के विषय में क्या सोचते हैं! कार्यक्रम में बताया गया है कि परिवार की खुशहाली और समाज के विकास के लिए बालिका शिक्षा बेहद ज़रूरी है! सरकार के द्वारा बालिकाओं के शिक्षा लिए चलाये जा रही योजनाओं के विषय में जानकारी दी गयी है! एक रेडिओ नाटक के माध्यम से यह बताया गया है कि लड़कियां भी पढाई और अन्य क्षेत्रों में बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने में सक्षम हैं! लड़कियों को भी लड़कों के बराबर पढने और आगे बढने का मौका मिलना चाहिए!

The expert (Seema Srivastava) interviewed in the programme, says that women empowerment can be meaningful only when we fight hard to end the gender based discrimination यह कार्यक्रम 8 मार्च यानी अंतर्रास्ट्रीय महिला दिवस पर आधारित है। जिसमे महिलाओं के सपने और उनकी जिन्दगी की सच्चाइयों के बारे में बताया गया है।  कार्यक्रम में सीमा श्रीवास्तव का साक्षात्कार भी लिया गया है, जिसमे उन्होंने कहा की महिलाओं ने हर स्थिति, हर मोड़ पर समस्याओं का हल निकालने में अपना योगदान दिया है। उनके सपने ही उनका स्वाभिमान हैं, उनकी शक्ति है । बस जरुरत है इन सपनो को जिन्दा रखने की।  कार्यक्रम में उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि पुरुषों और महिलाओं के में भेदभाव को ख़तम करने की जरुरत है तभी हम मुकम्मिल महिला सशक्तिकरण की बात कर सकतें हैं।

इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से बताया गया है, की आज भी हमारे समाज में पुरुषों और औरतों के बीच तुलना की जाती है। पुरुषों को जहाँ ताकतवर और औरत को कमजोर बताया जाता है, और यही तुलना पुरुषों को शासन करना सिखाती है। और हमारी पित्रस्तात्मक व्यवस्था में बेटों को एक खास नजरिये के साथ पाला जाता है, तथा लड़की को बचपन से ही घर की जिम्मेदारियों को सँभालने के लिए तैयार किया जाता है।

कार्यक्रम में फ्रीलांस फ़िल्ममेकर, लेखन एवं शोध में रूचि रखने वाले और मर्दानगी विषय पर काफ़ी समय से कार्य कर रहे राहुल रॉय जी का भी साक्षात्कार लिया गया है। उनका कहना है कि मर्दानगी को हमेशा सत्ता एवं शासन से जोड़ा जाता है, जरुरत है मर्दानगी के विषय पर ज्यादा समझ बनने की, ताकि एक संवेदनशील समाज की नींव डल सके।

इस कार्यक्रम में लघुनाटिका के माध्यम से समाज में लड़कियों के प्रति रुढिवादी सोच को बताने की कोशिश की गई है। और यह बताया गया है कि किस तरह उसे शिक्षा और सामाजिक गतिविधियों में हिस्सा लेने से भी वंचित कर दिया जाता है। लेकिन एक दोस्त के संपर्क में आने से माँ-बाप की सोच बदल गई और उन्होंने लड़की को पढाया और लड़की अपने माता पिता के भरोसे पर सही उतर कर बहुत बड़ी अधिकारी बनी।

कार्यक्रम में मसहूर लेखिका और दलित महिला आन्दोलन के कार्यकर्ता श्रीमति रजनी तिलक का भी साक्षात्कार लिया गया। जिन्होंने बताया कि सामाजिक अवरोध लड़कियों की शिक्षा में बाधा डालते है। हम सभी को अपने विचारों में बदलाव लाने की जरुरत है। लड़कियों को शिक्षित बनाकर बेहतर समाज का निर्माण करने की जरुरत है, उन्हें न सिर्फ़ पढाया जाना चाहिए, बल्कि आत्मनिर्भर एवं सशक्त बनाने पर भी ध्यान देना चाहिए।
