In the hospital, at the emergency room, nurse tells everyone to wait outside and the Doctor examines the patient. Mangala and her neighbors Tabassum, Prameela are anxiously waiting outside the room. After the examination nurse tells them to pay the bill and get the receipt so that they can proceed with the prescribed tests. The bill amounts to Rs. 6000/-. Mangala is dismayed as she does not have the required amount. Tabassum and Prameela volunteers to pitch in...

Concept: Application of Basic Concept of Maths

The narrator introduces the characters: Arya, the main protagonist is very happy seeing her name in the merit list in CET exams. In an interview with the community radio she shares her happiness and she then goes back to flash back mode of how she reached this stage. She begins with her story, when she was eight years old. She had a very happy life, with her parents and her brother till tragedy struck her family. Arya’s father, Venkatesh returns home and while talking to Mangala and Arya he collapses suddenly.

Elephants dying on railway tracks is something we read about very often. Also, since they live in herds and graze on different patches, they move about using elephant corridors. These corridors are often part of human settlements and industrial areas, which makes it harmful for the elephants. On this episode of Animal Instincts, we talk to two experts in this field- Mr. Ashok and Mr. Jose Lewis, who will discuss how elephants die on railway tracks and elephant corridors and what needs to be done to avoid it.
