Lakshmi, walks towards the meeting place where she and friends along with their siblings gather to do their homework, talk and play near the empty plot next the PHC. Unusually quiet, and distant, her friends Kavitha & Ranjitha notice her sullen mood and enquire what’s wrong. Lakshmi, then goes on tell her friends, that she is tired and scared as she is bleeding from below and she does not know what to do. Brushing her concern side, her friends congratulate her and tell her that “she has got her periods”, and she must be happy about it.  One of her friends gives her a pad and shows her how to use it. Ranjita, thinks it is important for Lakshmi to be aware of menstruation and suggest they go to Radha Miss, who had given them an orientation on “Good touch & Bad touch” in their school.
