Muthucharam CR

<p>To persuade the community members to enhance their potential in manyfields.The radio will make efforts to stay socially active for the benefit of the community at large.</p>

<p>The place where this CR has been setup (Kattankulathur, Kanchipuram District) was earlier a semi-rural or semi urban area that is 45 Km away from Chennai.People in the neighbourhood wanted to be acquainted with and listen more about their surroundings and that was the time when Muthucharam CR filled the gap of communication.</p>

Muthucharam CR @90.4 MHz broadcasts for five hours in two slots of two and half hours (one slot original, and another slot repeat programming). The timings of broadcast are from 7:00 am – 12:00 noon.

Aayakkalaigal Interview Programme on art and literature where personalities like Painter, Carnatic singer, instrumentalists, Drama Artists, Dancers are identified and interviewed.
Therinthu kolvom Radio documentary The functioning of Government organisations like Agriculture and Electricity departments, Meteorological Centre, Block Development Office and some private self help groups are produced as a documentary.
Vagupparai Conversation School class room is the set up for a teacher and student interaction with each other on a particular subject.
Velan Arangam Discussion Agricultural based programme where the farmers and agriculturalists ask their queries to agriculture industry experts in a conference.
Velan Arangam Radio report Local community events and functions are covered as radio report. Events like Medical camp, School annual day celebration, Panchayat welfare function, etc.

<p>Signature Programmes: Panchayat, NammaOoruNatchathiram, NalamaiVazhvom and VelanArangam Community Participation: Community participation is ensured by airing features,interviews, group discussions, interesting tips from the community on various subjects including cookery, home remedy and time management. Innovations in Format: Radio features andvoice bytes from local vendors for consolidating station identity and promotion.</p>

<p>Funding and Partnerships: The management has supported financially and technically for setting up of a full-fledged studio and audio equipments.</p>

<p>The impact created by Muthucharam CR among the community group is wide and massive through radio clubs, regular community meetings and field visits compared to previous years of operation.</p>
