Mission & Vission

<p><strong>Vision:</strong><br />To enrich the lives of its listeners by promoting education, health, culture, languages, peace, harmony, agriculture and growth etc in and around the campus at kalina, santacruzeast, Mumbai.</p> <p><strong>Mission:</strong><br />Through active involvement of the community members in and around the campus areas and along with the campus students, MUST radio aims to empower and reach its listeners to cover entertainment, education, health, employment, entrepreneurship, , dissemination of information to the people on various local bodies, state and central government schemes/projects.</p>

Genesis

<p>CRS was born to serve as an outreach activity for the people with involvement of the educational system as well as NGOs and community members to utilise the radio more effectively to empower all members of the society, especially the marginalised, women, and students.</p>

Thematic Focus

MUST Radio @107.8 MHz is set up by Mumbai University and roadcasts its programmes for 13 hours daily from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm.

Languages of Broadcast: English, Marathi and Hindi. Recently, we have also started with half hour of Gujarati and Tamil every week

Sa re ga ma Interview, performance We invite the community to share their skills in songs and urban folk, as well as play recorded music
Ladies special Interviews, capsules, live phone in This engages the women listeners through live dial-in and engages the RJ, Experts and Community in dialogue on air
Dharavi Times Interviews, capsules, live phone in This is a very interesting programme specially providing a platform for Dharavi slum community to share their views
Green times/ rutu hirva Interviews, capsules, live phone in Focuses on key environmental issues and good practices

Programme

<p>Signature Programme: Dharavi Times Community Participation: Community members run the radio station. Various NGOs as well as public organizations are roped in to conceptualise programmes every month. Accordingly, themes are developed and various hours of programming is produced. Innovations in format: Outdoor Broadcasting involving the community, panel discussions, radio dramas.</p>

<p>The radio has been an exceptional tool to provide a platform for people from various socio economic backgrounds and have also brought up new ideas like urban folk music, health and security issues.</p>
