Getting to Zero: Awareness on HIV/AIDS (Kannada)
To commemorate world HIV/AIDS Day, Janadhwani Community Radio is participating in a campaign against the spread of HIV/AIDS through series of radio programs. In this awareness campaign against HIV/AIDS and to eliminate discrimination and stigma that is attached to it, Janadhwani Community Radio station is producing and broadcasting programs that are based on giving basic information about what is HIV/AIDS, how its spread, ways on controlling HIV/AIDS, on Prevention of Parents to Child Transmission (PPTCT), etc. These programs are also aimed at disseminating information about the rights and entitlements that are available and ways to claim those rights for people living with the epidemic.
The first campaign program is about the general health issue on HIV/AIDS which is based on between 2011-15, world AIDS Days theme of “Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infection. Zero Discrimination. Zero AIDS related deaths.” In this program the expert talks about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), different modes of HIV transmission and ways of controlling the epidemic.
