Khirki Mehndiwali show (Arrangement of lavatory) (Hindi)

This programme is a radio series that focuses on societal and maternity issues like gender discrimination, child birth, female foeticide and many others. In this programme, we are talking about arrangement of latrines and bathrooms in villages. Most of the villages across India do not have proper lavatory system and people defecate in outer fields and bylanes.

About Us

BBC Media Action (WORLD SERVICE TRUST) in India has been using media to improve health and rights since 2001. In 2009, a two year multimedia condom normalisation project to help reduce levels of HIV reached over 150 million men across four of India's poorest states.

A major new five-year project will take a unique approach to improve maternal and child health in Bihar using a combination of TV, radio, online, outdoor advertising and mobile phones. BBC Media Action in India has also developed specialist programmes and supported local media in understanding and reporting the areas of disaster risk reduction, bonded labour and gender equality.

These programmes are broadcast in Bihar on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6:45 pm - 7:00 pm
