Deccan Radio

<p>The main objective behind the launch of Deccan Radio was to give a voice to the community and lend maximum support to some of Hyderabad&rsquo;s most downtrodden people living within the coverage area of the radio station. The aim is to focus on education, health and financial benefits by providing the community with information of the various opportunities existing in and around the area they live and work in.</p>

<p>The Abid Ali Khan Educational Trust is dedicated to the socio cultural and economic growth of the community. It has been serving the community for over 61 years. The trust realises the potential that Community Radio offers to meet its objective of widening the services of the trust. This has been the main driving force behind constituting a Community Radio Station.</p>

Deccan Radio broadcasts its programmes @107.8 MHz for six hours daily between 8:00 – 11:00 am and 5:00 – 8:00 pm.

Languages of Broadcast: Urdu, English, Telugu.

Education Talks, Lectures, Interviews In this show we give lessons for practicing English and also take interviews from educationists on notifications and all.
Bachon Ki Duniya Students and Self recorded A children’s show, which entertains them with stories, poems and also gives parenting tips for women.
Hamara Mashara Self recorded, talks The programme focuses on the problems facing by common people in day-to-day life, specially women
Kya Aap Jaante hain? Self recorded A programme that gives technology, health, knowledgeable information, facts (known/ unknown) from science, geography to the various topics

The trust is responsible for the maintenance and expenditure of the radio unit. Some advertisements have been received from DAVP last year.

<p><strong>Impact Stories<br /></strong></p> <p>Through our phone-in programmes we got tremendous response from our listeners, the type of programmes preferred by the callers, usefulness of the programmes, likes and dislikes about a programme and the impact of Deccan Radio, helps us in improving our strategies in connecting with the needs of the community.
