In post colonial India, declaration of air wave as public property has place of eminence as “green revolution” in agriculture. In most democracies of the world, airwaves in one form or other are within the public domain and symbolize freedom of speech. In free India, it has taken more than half a century to give credence to the true freedom of speech and expression through community radio. Excerpts from research paper presented in 19th AMIC Annual Conference to be held at the Singapore.
